Why You Need Glutacase: My Personal Journey with Digestive Health

When I was growing up, I had no idea I likely had irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It wasn’t until years later, as I was practicing functional medicine, that I connected the dots between the symptoms I experienced and the digestive issues that ran in my family.

I recall having to rush to the bathroom whenever I caught a chill. While I loved milk and drank it regularly, every time I ate ice cream I would get diarrhea. I now wonder if this was due to lactose intolerance or that combined with a sensitivity to wheat. Growing up with my father’s northern Chinese heritage meant we often ate pasta, noodles, and wraps—foods filled with wheat.

It wasn’t until medical school that I accidentally discovered a way to heal my gut. My schedule was so packed that I missed regular meals, surviving instead on soda, caffeine, and cookies. The unintentional result was a sort of “elimination diet,” which gave my gut a break from irritating foods like gluten and dairy. Although I didn’t know it at the time, I was experiencing firsthand the importance of reducing these irritants for digestive health.

Looking back, I see a similar pattern with my father. A lover of pasta and wheat products, he developed ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune condition where the body attacks itself, in his seventies. After genetic testing, I learned that I too am sensitive to both gluten and lactose, even though I don’t always feel immediate symptoms. Still, I’ve come to understand that long-term consumption of these ingredients can have significant health consequences that may not show up right away.

How Glutacase Can Help You

That’s why today, I am 100% gluten-free and limit my dairy intake. But it can be difficult when eating out, as gluten is often hidden in sauces, soups, and even in seemingly gluten-free dishes. This is where Glutacase plays a crucial role. It provides my body with the digestive enzyme support I need to break down gluten and lactose when I accidentally consume them.

I’ve seen these sensitivities in my own children as well. From a young age, I ensured they had access to digestive enzyme support and educated them on making better food choices.

If you suspect gluten or lactose may be causing you discomfort or you simply want to take precautionary steps for better gut health, I highly recommend Glutacase. This supplement has helped me maintain my social lifestyle without sacrificing my health.
